im having trouble tracking down a 1g oil cooler, but i want to drive my car, would it be safe to block off the oil cooler banjo bolts with regular bolts for a while until i get the external cooler and lines.? Or what other options do i have I Just got a shep tranny and new turbo set up so i really want to go drive it.

I ran my motor without an oil cooler while i decided what unit i was going to run and got all the parts together (about a week or so) I just barely drove the car (meaning i didn't beat it) but it was still my DD back then. The answer is you can, but just remember it's too important to forget about and don't beat the car without it, you can step in it, but any extended high rpm, high HP driving is going to heat your oil up fast, so just remember it and think accordingly when wanting to beat the car on a hot day

You've got the doughnut now or it was busted?

It would be kinda hard to just put the filter on without throwing that part in between - the spindle is too long. I wouldn't recommend going to hard on your setup without it, if you can get it out the driveway, but I would still take it out for a quick spin. As long as you have full synthetic in your engine, the oil shouldn't break down too quickly; if you have natural oil it might burn up after only a few minutes.

EDIT: Oh, and congrats on the new parts!

I have the 90 oil filter housing with the two banjo bolts with barb fittings on it now. No sandwich plate.

I might have to just wait i don't wanna risk hurting my built engine internals at all. So unless its really safe i don't want to do it.. thanks for the input. if any one else wants to say anything feel free.:talon::talon:
