Has anyone Destroked the 4g63T motor? if so how? i would awsome it would be a crank from a small mitsubishi engine, just curious because i would like to scream more off the line. get it down to like a 1.8 or 1.9 just get things in motion faster. i don't think destroking a turbo motor is a wise idea, just entertaining the idea for now.

Why?
The tranny already can't shift as high as a 2.0 4G63 can rev...
The only thing you gain with less stroke is the ability to run higher rpms.
A DSM tranny isnt going to shift above 9k rpms for long anyways.

yeah thats a good point, but my view is higher revs go nicely off. Lets the turbo hold out longer, but then again i don't know if the engine could hold most boost longer or it would even help at all. I am thinking it would but there would be some sufficent drawback to even out the cons/pros of a 2.0 and a 1.8.

the tranny is the best point. I was hoping i could go to about 9k rpms with the destroked motor, but if the tranny can't handle it then it wouldn't be worth it. However if I could build the tranny to take it, like Level 10... maybe it would be a odd mod to do. I just want to work more intune with the engine, most guys are just bigger turbo.. more fuel... more air. the engine is where it all starts... where it is all made.

that and Traction (f*ck 900 horses if you can't get the power to the ground) I have my own ideas for that, but thats a different topic and a different board to discuss that. thanks for the heads up, but I will still research this.
