I should be getting my car back tomorrow, it had a blown headgasket. Due to hitting a foreign object on the interstate about 2 months ago, my oil cooling unit fell off. It screwed up my engine and turbo in a matter of secs.
While it was down I put a injen intake sys. on it, a turbo Xs Rfl, magnecor 8.5 plug wires, and just because I had to get a new turbo: I bought a 16g. My car also had to be bored .30 over w/ oversized pistons. I got it back this past weekend, drove it for like an hour, and blew a head gasket. I hit 20 psi at only 5500 rpms, so obviously I was running to high of boost.(stupid I no) I have since gotten a turbo Xs mbc, and a walbro 190 lph fuel pump.
My question is this......Until I can afford a full 2.5" exhaust system and 550 injectors, How much boost can I safely run? Please give me an accurate answer, I really need my car back for more than a day at a time. Thanks for the help

well if you have a 1g you can run max 15-17 psi before you hit fuel cut.. if you have a 2g then no more then 12 psi if you fatory bov, aftermarket bov i say bout the same 15-17psi

If your worried about ruining the car again, then why are you wanting to know the max boost you can run. Just run around 12 psi and be happy. No use screwing up something because you couldn't wait to boost more.

i would say that 15psi would be safe. maybe even 13-14psi.

thanks guys I'm going to take that middle #, 13psi.

By the way do you guys no where I can get a replacement hose line from my boost gauge to where I have it tapped into? (are something that would work in place of)

Most auto parts stores (Pep Boys, AutoZone, etc.) have hose in various diameters. You just measure off however much you need from a large spool and cut it and take it to the register. They'll most likely only have SAE measurements, but you'll be able to find one close enough to metric if that's what you need. I think for boost gauges it's 3/16". Not sure, though. If you are able to take a small piece with you to compare, that'd be best.

i think its 7/64..... but im not sure i just know its ridiculously small and not at home depot
