Just pulled off my throttle body today to block the FIAV and noticed how clean my intake manifold was. Normally they are coated in black slimy crap but after using W/I for 2 seasons now i was really suprised at the cleaning power of it.
This motor has 230,000 kms on it and looks like new!!

I wish I had taken a picture of my head runners the last time I pulled it. Everyone who saw it asked why it was recently rebuilt when it hadn't been hot-tanked or even rubbed on in 100k. It was so very clean.

Man, there is just no disadvantage to water injection. I wonder what your combustion chambers look like. ;)

The combustion chambers look the same, or cleaner. They're being continuously steam-cleaned. It's the primary payoff to water injection, and most of what enables the tuning advances you can make with a properly set-up WI system. Motors enjoy being run in the condition they were designed.
My Datsun 2000 is a 135-hp two-liter designed in 1967. It has a factory CR of 10.5:1. When California stopped selling gasoline and switched to this shit-ass paintbrush cleaner in the seventies, the car would still run okay, but you couldn't turn the poor thing off. It had to be strangled with the clutch, and being SU-carburetted, didn't have provision for a fuel cutoff like they were having to put on cars of that era. I began running water through it just by engine vacuum metered through a fish tank valve, and just the tiniest amount- a gallon jug of water would last five-hundred miles. Not only did the car run more smoothly with it, but it would shut off when the ignition was cut.
I've been a fan ever since.

That's very impressive, what's the most common place for the nozzle, in the TB elbow? I've got my IAT sensor there and a nitrous nozzle that's plugged off, it's 1/8 NPT so maybe i can use that same hole.

Mine should be here tomorrow or tuesday, i got the DevilsOwn base kit.

Water injection is just wicked!!!

I've been so impressed with the results on my Talon.

The cleaning aspect of it is something thats over look.

Well, I think the most beneficial aspect of water injection is the ability of water to "soak up" the heat in the combustion chamber during ignition, slowing the burn rate down. Thus, giving pump fuel the same knock propesity as race fuel.

Steam cleaning is a great side benefit. . . Especially if you've polished runners/ports. What's the use of the polish if it gets all muked up again? Like Defiant said, it helps keep an engine running in the fashion it was originally tuned.
