Any reason I can't ground the lighting for my boost guage right there on the metal A-pillar? That way I only need 1 inch of wire. A few people told me I have to cut into an existing ground wire and splice it. I still don't see why I couldn't just ground it right under the pod right on the steel A-pillar, what's the difference?

Well, my first thoughts is it's probably not a superb ground. If it's not that great of a ground, the gauge will be dimly lit, and/or flicker.

But, give it a try :) Worst case scenario, you have to splice into a line anyway.

i grounded mine on a bolt for the seat belt track, i just unscrewed the screw a bit, wrapped the wire around it, and screwed it back up. only problem i had is i can't find the fuse for the dimmer, or how i am suppose to hook it up, so i have it hooked into the fuse for the radio, so the light is always lit up.

All I did to connect it to a ground is take off the driver kick pannel, remove a bolt, and connect the wire (and ring terminal) to the bolt and put it back on. you can remove a couple of screws on the dash to hide the wie completely for a "proffesional" installation.

If you splice though, do it the right way w/ solder and shrink tubing. Now the half a##ed way w/ electrical tape.

You can tap the dash illumination wiring directly off the back of the dimmer unit. Running a wire from there to the A pillar is easy enough.

Check your DSM Manual CD for the appropriate wiring diagram.
