80MPH @ 3500RPMs?

its been over 2 months now since I got my car back (ECU and MAS fried, another long story). When I'm on the freeway just cruising normal it seems that at 80mph my rpms are higher than they should be. I thought it was just my imagination since its been so long since I had my car but can you guys and gals tell me if that RPM range is normal for 80mph? It feels like it should be lower, maybe like 2700-2900RPMs.

Fyi. its a fwd 95 Talon.

I don't know if you've got a standard or auto, but in my fwd 1g 5spd I'm running at around 3500-3600 at 80mph

i have a 2g turbo manual and i think i'm at 100 @ 4000 or 110 at 4500 i believe off the top of my head.

That sounds right guys, cause for me i'm doing 65 at exactly 3000rpms. So 80 at 3500 sounds right.

Yep, 3500 at 80 is dead on. I remember because that gives us gear limited top speed (with stock redline) at 160 MPH.

Oh cool I was going to ask a similar question. I had put a 95 FWD ECU in my 96 GSX. The RPM @ 70 is around 3200.
