Richmond Hill,
I found this page on making a 3" intake pipe, but I can't seem to find any of the materials.

Directions:

Now, I was thinking, can't I just get a 3" pipe and bend it into place with a few minor adjustments, a drill here and there, and boom, instant intake?

If I were to do that, is there a certain type of metal that I have to use, or what would be suggested?

I just can't see myself spending $300 for a piece of slightly bent metal :p And I know there are cheaper ones, but that seems like the price for the larger more durable ones. Pretty much, if I could make it, I would be much happier anyway... I'd have that feeling of accomplishment :)

Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

www.dejontool.com sells all kinds of intakes for way better prices than $300. How does $104 sound?

I designed my own and RRE fabricated it for me. In hindsight I would just get the Dejon Tool intake. Mine fit really well with the stock UICP and turbo but with the 20G and new IC setup it's tight. Of course I designed it at work with my car over 20 miles away so I think I still did an ok job.

If you are not using a MAS, dryer hose works fine. All you need is dryer hose ($4.99), a bracket to hold the airfilter in place ($3). Thats what I have on my 1gAWD.
