Turbo Byebye today!!

tonite i am on the way to go count down. when i go on freeway i raced with someone when i am doing 130mph suddenly hear boom
then after that my car won't go any more. then i stop. seem like engine still good. and in my muffler all the white smoke come out. then i know turbo dead already. car will go but only can go 20 mph. after that i gas it car won't go any faster then 20mph. Now really headache. don't know what to do i know i am going get another turbo. But i don't have much money. I want to see is there anyway i can rebuild the turbo and put a T28 fan and other stuff in to my old core. Can anyone give me suggestion what i can do. Is it the turbo really dead or the wategate gone. Coz i am running high boost with my T25. any idea thanks

You might have hit fuel cut and then something happened to the turbo. But ur post is confusing

you said white smoke came out the exhaust that is more likely that you blew your headgasket and that is why your car won't go now, not that you blew your turbo at all.

The parts for a Headgasket are cheaper but it's more labour if you can't do it yourself.

And you shouldn't be running high boost on a T-25 anyway-- keep it under 17.

if u did blow ur turbo and u dont have to much money dont get another t28 cuz its gonna do the same under high boost so just switch to a 14b their stronger and can take a beatin..and dsmjim is right white smoke from the exhaust is most likely headgakset check that #### out.. even if u didnt blow a head gasket and blew ur turbo u would go over 20mph its like have a straight 4 without turbo..get wat im sayin?

do you have an AUTO tranny? Maybe it went into limp mode

White smoke is coolant being burned. Probably head gasket.

my car is in bodyshop now they will help me to check
i think it is my some piping broken or come off.. at intercooler area.before when i idie my car my BOV will working and now it doesn't work.

White smoke could also be oil burning from a blown turbo. But after re-reading your post,it might be a HG sence you cant go past 20mph.

He blew off his intercooler pipe guys. Easy enough. You hear a loud boom at high boost, your car runs like #### and smokes, and your scared shitless you broke something big.

It has happened to everyone. Thats why I like harpipes.

sounds a lot like a head gasket blow out. white smoke often means coolant is being burned up. my .02

Well considering the mechanic said the intercooler pipe blew off.

He would be overheating if the head gasket blew.
