what do you think? i need a set of 95 pistons and i want to buy these... does it "sound" like they're a good choice? i emailed the guy to make sure he was replacing them with forged and not getting rid of them because they're toasted OMG

Just have a look at the rings and the ring lands. If you don't know anything about pistons then have a shop look at them beofre you buy them. WHat typically happens in a turbo car is the ring lands drop and you end up losing a bit of compression but you can't really tell in the motor unless you do a compression test and know before what it used to be. You can still drive the car but boosting it hard will eventually develop into holes in the pistons earlier and easier than good pistons.

me = nd
pistons = kansas
how am i going to look at them before buying? :confused:

to the best of my understanding, they are lighter, have higher compression, and can take much more pressure than 1g stock. in essence, 95-99 would be the same... but for some reason 95 seems to be the general favorite. go figure

like i said, i think 95-99 are the same. perhaps they're all referred to as '95 pistons' because 95 was the first year they changed the design? :confused: seems logical to me
