ok guys im doing a new head on my car and i figured this would be a good time to do a new manny since mine is a crack prone 1G variant.i plan on going to a bigger turbo, prolly no larger than a small 16G,so i was just wondering,is the EVO really worth the extra 25 bucks over a 2G?or will the 2G be fine for what i want to do,which is nothing crazy.i will probably end up porting it too just for a little bit more flow.

The Evo is good becasue the outlet is already 7cm. That's what I have and recommend.

yeah i was thinking the extra 25 bucks is probably worth the time involved in getting the 2G up to EVO specs, and i dont have the patience for doing that kinda thing.i think im also going to go with the EVO O2 housing while im at it and get that out of the way.boy my credit card company is gonna love me!oh yeah and will the EVO housing fit my stock DP,or will i have to modify that??i am keeping it stock for now.i just need the car running.ill worry about it come spring.

It will not fit the stock DP....
BTW you should work from the muffler to the manifold in that direction. Your setup will choke itself and want to creep if you get the housing and dont get a DP...

How do you tell the difference between a evo and a 2g? Is the splitter in the collector different in anyway? Also what is the best way to fix a hairline crack in an exaust manifold?

AFAIK it is all about collector size. The Evo mani has a 7cm collector outlet hole and the 2g has a 6cm one. People with the smaller one port it out, but if you can get an Evo part, you don't have to port it.

But like I said AFAIK. Someone correct this if I am wrong.

was it the manifold or the O2 sensor housing? I hear that you have to make that fit as it is not a direct bolt up part.

As for the manifold, what turbo were you using with it? Some larger turbos might need some porting to make it fit. Something with an 8cm exhaust inlet.

And did you HAVE to port it, or just were smart and did it when it was off? :)
