Anyone ever try chopping off the lower flange on one of these and welding on a T3/DSM turbo flange?

They look like they would flow a lot better than the log styles, and you could even do a twin scroll turbine from the looks of it. Turbo placement might be iffy, but if you're able to do that custom than you could do everything else custom, right?

Where the he!! would your oil return line go? How woudl it get to the stock location on the oil pan? How much higher would the turbo be to the *gravity operated* turbo oil drain system?

In theory you don't need most of that straight segment, so you could push the turbo down a fair amount. I'm not super familiar with how far down the NT manifolds go though.

It looks like if it's pushing it down far enough for the oil line to be a problem then the engine mount will for sure get in the way. If that started to become a problem you could cut the end off at an an angle and clock the housings. That would put the oil return higher up, and potentially swing it out of the way of the engine mount... right into the radiator and fans :D

Anyways, with 2g's and evo's putting people into the 9's there's not a lot of use in it, just thought it might be interesting to try.

I've seen plenty of cracked nt manifolds in the junkyards. They aren't made to support the weight of a turbo anyway, unless you could figure out some way to make it stronger. It sounds like reinventing the wheel is all I'm saying.

i've already looked at this for running a divided tubine housing hx35. . . The n/t manifold completely covers the return hole in the oil pan. I wish it were easy. . . I would definately be running this. . . I would just run two pipes 180* up to the turbine houing. . .

Oil drain line has to be above the pan and should be within 10 degrees of a straight vertical drop.

Yea all the pictures of honda guys turning their n/t headers into divided runner turbo manifolds gave me the idea to use a stock n/t 4g63 manifold for a hx35 install. But, piping the oil return line is a problem.
