ok so heres the deal, ive got low compression on two cylinders. Because of this i want to do a mild "budget" inspired rebuild to freshen up the motor, it has 163k. Heres a list of what im going to buy, let me know what you think....
piston rings .20 over on stock 1g pistons
oem factory main and rod bearings
RRE viton rubber valve seals
RRE Manganese-Bronze valve guides
RRE oem replacement valves, or should i get the RRE Swirl polished valves???
eliminate balance shafts
stock oem headgasket
ARP everything
block bore .20 over, resurface, check for cracks etc.. (How much should i resurface?)
heres the RRE link to the parts ive listed, you have to scroll down...http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclengine.htm
my goal for now is 350-400 whp so i figure a stock block would be fine. Any other things i should replace? Swirl polished valves or oem? Where can i get
.20 1st gen piston rings? Any advice welcome, thanks in advance!
