I need some opinions from you guys please.

Awhile back I purchased a FP Green from Forced Performance, along with there SS oil feed line and oil return line.

To make a long story short, the oil return line that I purchased from them leaked a little bit, in which it bugs the hell out of me, so at the place I work at I found some SS braided line which was a -6 line and that's all we had.

I'm not to sure what size the line that FP uses but it looks to be about a -10. The question I'm wanting to know is will a -6 line be suffice at returning the oil back to the oil pan sufficiently? I'm pretty sure the oil feed line that I have from my oil filter housing is a -4 line. Thanks for any advice!! :)

Here's a picture in size comparison:

I just used some regular hose from autozone with some clamps over normal push-lok fittings. The push lok leaked, the cheap stuff doesn't. As long as there is nothing to interrupt the flow of the oil you should be fine.

Straight from "Street Turbocharging" - your return line should be "at least 5 times the diameter of the supply line into the CHRA"

Dont cheap out here, if the line breaks youre going to lose all your oil all over the road.

If your return line is not big enough, youre going to leak oil from your turbo seals. The oil wont be able to drain fast enough and your feed line will keep feeding at the same pressure.

Are you using a restrictor in your feed line?

No... not unless FP puts one in when you purchase there feed line. I'm not worried about it leaking any though because it was put together by a professional, just if it will be able to flow enough. To me it seems that as long as it's atleast bigger than the oil feed then it should work but I don't know.

Yeah any type of braided line bigger then supply will be beter then cheap 12psi AZ hose. I had a problem on another car where it would burst all the time. So I took braided and fixed the problem. Also I couldn't drag with out it. you could go to a plumer store and get something like that cheap with slide pressure fittings also you could just use thread sealer or plumers tape to fix the problem with the old one

Well, so far that makes it 2 to 1 in favor of it being ok, but I would like to hear even more opinions stating as to why it would be better to run a -10 vs a -6 line when the oil feed line itself is smaller @ -4 than the oil return line. Thanks again guys!!

My oil return is 10 an and my feed is 4 an. I just don't think there is that much pressure coming out of your drain line.
