I got one from Autozone ($13.99). It looks like paper type. The factory one is metal (2 Layers). RRE also sells the 4 layers one.

Do you guys have any problem with the felpro ones? Thanks.

I have an autozone felpro gasket and it looks like its paper coated with somthing, but where it counts(around the exhaust ports) does have a metal ring so I should be fine. I've had mine on the car for aobut 1000 miles so far and every thing is fine.

I had a felpro exhaust mani gasket on my car for over a year.

But if it fails I have an RRE 4-layer one.

The felpro one, I think, should not require any resurfacing on the manifold for flatness. However the factory one needs resurfacing or at least some dabs of copper silicone.

I had one, it lasted like 20 days... but i had a few bolts missing up there... but the stock Gasket handled the abuse... now i have a 4 layer... MUCH better, and i still have a bolt busted off in the head, but no leak (thank you RRE 4 layer)

well it's metal inside and coated with composite layers. The stock one is all metal.

That's odd, the Fel Pro exhaust manifold gasket I put on my car was metal.

Agree, i had the same problem with loose studs. Boosted 25psi with miissing studs and nuts, no signs of leak on the gasket.

Set,

Guys the fellpro is made of composite. The same stuff the stock headgasket is made of, Your combustion chambers get just has hot as the exhuast. Either one is good but the fellpro will seal up easier because it is thicker.

I have has both the 2 layer metal and the composite on my car and the composite sealed better.

If you resurface the manifold and use the metal one with some copper silicone, it should seal just as good as the composite one.
