1990 Oil Filter Housing Question

On a 1990 oil filter housing, which oil line is the outlet, going to the oil cooler. I want to set the flow direction so the cooler will fill up completly before it returns to the housing.

If in looking at the housing from the drivers side of the car, would the outlet be the left or the right?

I've done the 90 Oil filter conversion on my 91 AWD so to help you out you got 2 areas the left fitting or the right fitting....

The Left fitting is the feed and the Right fitting is the return.

You want to make sure that the feed (left) is on the bottom of the oil cooler, and the return (right) is on the top if you have it mounted sideways like myself.

I believe it was stated in Mavisky's post that the 90 oil cooler lines have the feed and return backward's, the problem that arises is that what happens if air gets trapped in the cooler?? Air is of coarse lighter than oil and with the feed on the top the air has no where to go thus losing some of the oil coolers cooling rate.
