Ok guys, just a little curious on your opinions here....

What are all the ways you can think of to reduce your DSM's weight, while still maintaining street legality?? :)

Oh ya, and so the car atleast *appears* like a daily driver...

Remove the carpet and chip away all the sound dedining(sp?) material, and either put the carpet back down or leave it out.

there are many small things that you don't need either. The bracket between the throttle body and the intake manifold is one such thing. It is about 2lbs of cast iron. You will have to shorten the two mounting bolts by the same amout as the thickness of the bracket, but that is it. It is easier to work on the engine this way as well. If you decide to pull the motor, you will have to put it back on tho.

LOL if I added up all the little crap I have taken off my car, like that iron bracket, all the crap that came out with the EGR etc etc, I'd probably have a 100 pound pile by now!

It's a good point though...easier to shave 1 pound off 100 different places then 100 pounds all at once.

My thoughts exactly, I have removed countless small items, most of which I cant remember I just notice them as I am working on various things and pull the useless stuff out.

Prett much the point of my post. You guys understand the concept, but maybe a newer person will see it now that we have discussed it.
