Is it just me or .......(big 16g pipe idea/?)

Ok so I've been looking at the pics of some of the vendors 2g install kit pipe for a Big 16g. They sure look a lot like the flanged part of a stock 1g metal J pipe. Am i wrong here or can I used the 1G pipe to route down to where (with and elbow) connect my lower intercooler pipe?

The stock piece is pretty small, and is crush bent. Some vendors have an improved mandrel bend, with bigger diameter piping.

But if you like, I suppose you can use it.

I reused that stock 1G elbow and cut my 2G lower pipe in half (between the 2 bends) had midas cut and weld beads on a 10" long 2" I.D. exhaust tube and put it between. fits perfect with the stock intercooler and was free (turbo was bought used and came with the elbow and midas got the tubing out of the scraps bin and cut and welded for free), I just painted it with a little clear coat and was good to go.
