Well I finally had the car up and running....ran into 2 new issues

1-Car will not idle above 600rpm...I have messed with the IAC, CAS, Throttle body screw....I had it up to 1200 at one point and the car was happy there...now I can not get it back...I also checked the timing with a light & set it to -10 TDC

2-I keep blowing radiator lines....1st was the 2 small rubber lines by the oil filter...then it was the lower line....upper line and the latest was the heater core line...What the hell would cause all this???

Upgrades consist of a S16G, 264/272 cams and intake thats it thats just stuff I threw in when I replaced the head gasket and found that the turbo was bad....I have replaced...the brake pads, all the calipers(long story), starter, alternator, battery, radiator, thermostat (yes its in the right way), timing belt/tensionor, BS, new plugs, new wires not a whole lot left to replace....

Timing is supposed to be 5 degrees not 10, are you grounding the timing connector when you adjust timing?

Are you following the proper procedure for setting the idle or are you just changing things?

If you are blowing coolant hoses, there must be excessive pressure in the system. I would start by checking the pressure of the radiator cap, check the thermostat and verify that it is functioning properly.

If everything checks out ok you'll probably want to do a compression test and have a mechanic pressurize your cooling system to check for internal leaks.

Sry...timing is at 5 not sure what I was thinking and I followed the VFAQ's and chiltons when I did the timing and when it came to setting the idle, I did a compression test and I got 150-152 across the board...How do I go about checking the pressure at the radiator cap and the thermostat, it is a new one.....I would let the car idle when I was filling it and the fans and all that kicked on like they should have...

Good news is the Coolant lines you've blown are the FIRST ones to go, I blew the exact same ones - Basically you have to replace EVERY Coolant Line on the Motor if by chance you have any "originals" left - Bad news is that it's possible you have a Head Gasket leak whereby Intake pressure is presurizing the Coolant side - I hope that's not the case - With the Aftermarket Cams you have in your Motor Idling speeds could be a little different than Stock, we need someone with Aftermarket Cams to come in here & help out on that one - Good Luck...
