how easily is it to bolt on a supra trubo froma a second gen supra 91.... i have a chance to get a used turbo from work, i work at a toyota dealership, and was wondering if it could be done???? what will i need, is it ok to put it in my car, and also wat will i be pushing hp wise????? help me out? is this a good idea?

anything can be done but it will cost a #### load of money. im gussing over 20k why do people ask stupid ass questions like these. you could build a race 4g motor with that much money.

Did you read his question? He is only wondering about the turbo.

To address the question at hand, You will probably need to have a custom exhaust manifold built and same with O2 housing. But do you know that this turbo is better than your turbo? What will the lag time be? Remember it came off a 6 cylinder and those will spool a turbo quicker than your 4 cylinder. My recommendation is to stick with the turbos that are made for our cars, it will be a lot less hassle.

Mike

i think you need to find out what supra this came from. was it aftermarket? get some of the specs on the turbo. if it's an aftermarket from a gen4 supra... it's likely a t60+... which means it's definitely not for playing in the street

prob. a stupid response, but i believe the mk111 supras used a small turbo a tc-26....is that really worth modifing to fit a DSM?

Putting a CT26 on a DSM would be the biggest waste of money ever. Can it be done? Yes. Will it require a lot of work? Yes. Money? Also yes. Will it be better than your stock turbo? Maybe a little. For much less money and a lot less headache you can get a T28 or Big 28 or 16G even and it will be a lot better than a CT26.

Even though I answered the question nicely, I must say this is one of the stupidest ideas I have heard in awhile.

I have two ct26 turbos sitting at the shop. One ported, one stock. I'm half tempted to put it on....just for the challenge. Will it be worth it...not really. Would it be nice to say you have a supra turbo....sure. Since it's free for me...I could do it....would I suggest anyone else to do it....only if it is costing you next to nothing to do.

I got some lighted windshield washer nozzles to sell you... if someone says they have a "supra turbo" it damn well be the car, why do people get a hard on for parts from other cars, like a mk3 supra made any power to begin with? even the mk4 stock twins are only good for 4xx ish hp, why don't you rig that setup up?
If you want to waste money and time on something, make your own o2 housing, exhaust mainfold, intake manifold, something that could potentially serve a purpose, not bolting on a useless turbo just so you can name drop at the street races.

ok so i guess bye all the dumb ass remarks i got for just askin a simple question, i take it its not worth it, glad to see how helpfull u guys are around here and remind me not to ask another question again, so sad... like people are just supposed to know these things, whats the point of this board if whenever you ask a question u get shitted on? wow thanx for the help

First of its by not bye. If you really want to hurt our feelings you can at least do it with proper grammar.

The point of the board is not to ask stupid questions. Just about any question you have ever thought about asking has more than likely already answered in great detail years ago. This is why Chris is kind enough to create a links page so you can use those first. If you search more and post less you can keep your embarrassment level to an absolute minimum :thumb:

You have got to be the most stereotypical, wanna-be anti-rice, narrowminded moron on this board. I didn't say I want to put the turbo on because it came from a supra, I said I would put it on for a challenge. I think it would be a good way to test my mechanical abilities. Some people have a hard on for parts from other cars because they work. I know a lot of people that have used fuel pumps from rx7's and other parts from cars to upgrade their existing stock parts. I own those turbos. I called rre and they said they can make an adapter plate to get it to fit. Before you start to run your mouth, read the entire thread. You know nothing about who I am, or the type of car enthusiast that I am. Until then...:shhh:

I don’t know it kind of looks that way to me. It sucks when people turn their wrath on you. But Mike is right. Putting tons of time and effort for minimal gain is pointless. Doing it to get the “props” for having Supra parts on your car is kind of lame. Like Mike said if you REALLY want to flex your fabrication skills build something that will actually help you.

It amazes me that i have only been here 6 months and i learned how to use the SEARCH button the 2nd day i got here. Plz stick to the newbie forums for questions like these. Not flamming just giving advice.

don't bother tyrin to put in the ct-26 in your 2g....trust me.....my friend bought one thinkin it would simply bolt on his 95 talon...and i told him...it' wouldn't work...told him he'd be better off sellin it and get his t-25 rebuilt to a t-28 or sumthin....

many people are intrigued by the fact that you managed to put a part from another "high performance" vehicle and put it in their own car. i'm not saying that I'd do it just to impress them, I'd do it for the challenge.

sure it makes sence to make a modification that will greatly increase horsepower, but there really isn't any harm in doing so if it isn't going to cost you much, if anything. why do a lot of people do what they do...just because. the turbo is there collecting dust, why not give it a shot. I just may learn more about my car as well as the car it came from.

I'm not recommending this to anyone, I'm just saying that I have the resources to do it cheap.....but this thread is a lost cause now.

As far as the ricer comment goes, keep it to yourself. No need to be a dick about it.

Blah blah. You dug your own grave. Put your Supra Turbo on. Bling bling.

I think this is worth trying. Heck, why not throw two of those turbos on there? We all know that TWO of everything is better, right? Of course we're keeping the stock fuel and SMIC on.

Oh, and since we're in there...might as well convert it to RWD to "harness" all the power too! Yea! :thumb:

Noobs deserve the flames. You'll learn from it and won't ask these stupid questions again.

man this room is stupid a guy comes in here askin a ? and u guys give him a hard time.. im sry not everyone can be as smart as u guys..rdrkt u nothin great urself i kno u didnt built the car u have so dont talk like u kno somehting
