im a lil stomped on this one... what does clippin a turbo really do and can it have some side effects cuz i heard there can be?

Actually it's the exact opposite... makes it spool a little slower, and have more top end.

thanks alot bud i go to the track 3 times a year for import day and i already have it ported thanks again

I say get it ported & clipped. It will kinda balance out. Porting it will help it spool up faster, so sacrifice a little lag for some top end. I have a ported & clipped 18g on my 97 tsi a/t fwd & i love it. It helps me with traction issues too. But then again if i had awd i wouldnt get it clipped, b/c you can make better use of the instant power out of the hole w/o spinning. This is just me, so do what you think is better for your application.

hey grndsm i remember seeing u up new hampshire at import day ur car is insane i ran my car up there to i only ran a 13.3 but its ok i plan on better times next import day,, r u goin this year coming up?

Mine has a pretty aggressive clip, and it spools up very quick. I went from a ported 14b to a br20g and the spool up difference wasn't all that noticeable.
