Cyclone Vs US

Why does the cyclone JDM engine make more horsepower than the US motor. and will it make my modifications make a bigger difference. what motor would be best to chose for modification?

Just to let u know the "cyclone JDM engine" is the same engine as our's (4g63) the only diference is the intake manifold. The cyclone has 8 smaller runners for air, and the US version has 4. There has been many previous post about this and from what i got out of them both intakes are pretty much equal. Keep your engine and you'll be happy, JDM doesn't always mean better. And not to flame u or anything but can u please u the search function. That is why it is there and like 2 posts up from yours is another Cyclone question, which u should have asked your Q there. But i hope my info will help u out.

i asked that question to i just put it in a different post but thanks for the info i already have a cyclone motor in my car i was just wondering if there was any other difference besides the intake cause i have read that the head flows better, the exhuast manifold flows better and that it has a larger throttle body

Yes it has the larger head, etc. etc. But as to it flowing better..... I don't think so. There was a thread way back where someone actually measured the flow extensively, and in some cases, the cyclone was worse (not by much, it was very minute, but still technically worse)

anybody have any idea on how to get the butterfly valve to work? ive heard it is supposed to open at 10 psi. could i use the factory bcs to control it?

Hobbs switch hooked up to a solenoid
