I'm a pretty experianced DSMer but I was just curious and wanted a few other peoples imputs preferably people who have welded up their "OWN" exhausts and are "good" welders
My question is well when were were making the exhaust for my car I had a 3inch pipe dent to match the HKS ti exhaust and when were were welding the flanges on we welded them like dummys with the flange going vertical rather than horizontal and now it rattles on the heatsheild under the car. The exhaust has no flex section in it so it also rattles the tip of the carbon Ti exhaust cause the tip is rivited on. My question is I was thinking about cutting out the flange that hits the heat shield and in place of that putting a flex section, now the flex section would be alittle after the transfercase ( where a normal cat back bolts to the cat). Is that too far back? Most peoples DP's I see with flex sections are right near the oil pan. My main goal is to eliminate all the rattling. Thanks!
