Ive been considering getting some hard piping for my stock sidemount but im not sure if its worth the money as come spring or so i will be going with a front mount. I have a friend with a pipe bender and can get the pipe bent and necked to what ever i want for 25 bucks. My question is how much of a difference is it going to make over the stock piping. Im running 18psi right now and in 2 weeks will be making a trip to the KC drag strip and will probally bump it up a few pounds for that. Also what size piping should i go with i know most go with 2 1/2 thanks in advance for any and all help/ advice

I noticed a nice gain when i went to hard pipes for intake and uicp over stock. And at the time, those were my only mods. So personally, i think it's worth it. Especially for 25 bucks.

When you go fmic are you going short route? Because you could run the fmic piping to the stock location and keep the pipe. But thats up to you.

If nothing else you will notice a difference in throttle response, the first gen rubber pipes will blow up like balloons at 18 psi not to mention 20 I say go for it esspecially fro 25 bucks.

ok sounds like i will and its gonna be like 50 after everything is said and done but thats pennies compared to some dejon tool ones even used. Also i already have a hard intake pipe and that made a huge difference with a 2g maf. what size should i got with 2 1/4 or 2 1/2

Pick up a cheap 2g TB elbow on here, or from a vendor. Or make sure you get a good TB elbow flange to work off of to fab the piping.

Otherwise, i'd go with 2.5" and just neck it down to i THINK 1.75" for the IC outlet. OR get a reducer coupler.

I would say its a waste of money. I noticed no difference at all when I put my hard pipes on. I think it was buschar who did a dyno tune and showed 0 hp gains. I may have noticed a little better throttle response when off boost and louder BOV. That is it.
