mount the bov backwards so the outlet of the bov is facing the other way and have a recirculation tube that does a u-turn or has a slight curve back into the recirc tube.

*edit*

i just looked at the pic...if that doesnt work, go to home depot and somewhere in the plumbing section, they have metal tubing with curves...get one of these pipes (theyre just metal pipes probably an inch in diameter) and they sell different bends. get one and cut it to size...it wont kink, and it should work.

I just reused my stock recirc tube. When you force it to fit like that, it looks as if it's pretty badly kinked, but I took it off to see how bad it was and it turned out that the stock tube can be pretty mashed up and still not create a dead kink.

i used the inner tube of a bike tire, it might crack with engine heat, but the sound is definately more audible.

Yes, ILLiCliPSE is talking about what I did. I was in the same situation with the SS Autochrome FMIC kit, and I needed a new way to recirculate. Check out these pics:

This is the writeup I did in the original thread where they posted the info on that FMIC kit:

Hey guys I posted a while back asking about a new recirculation hose for the bov. I had a crimped radiatior hose on in place of the stocker, but it was a POS. Well, after 2 hours of work and 2 trips to the store, I have the solution to your bov tube if it is crimped, or you are venting it with this kit.

Total cost of project : $12.35 (might be less if you already have some parts)

Alright, the parts/tools you need are as follows:
- 2 feet of vacuum hose
- 6 1.75" hose clamps
- A long enough piece of rubber hosing, maybe atleast a foot, to use as couplers. (I used a radiator pipe and cut it).
- 1 "P Trap" tubing kit with 1.25" inlet/outlet. (Got this in plumbing section of Lowes home improvement store)
- The normal wrenches/sockets you would need to install a bov
- Hacksaw/cutting tool
- Sander/metal file

I'm sorry I didn't take step by step pictures during installation cause I forgot my camera, but I think the pictures explain this very well. I am also just trying to remember from memory, so take precise measurements when cutting.

First, you will need to remove the bov from the flange on the IC pipe. Turn the bov around so that the outlet port is facing the windshield. Now, remove the old vac hose for the bov, and replace it with the longer piece you have and cut it to the proper length needed. Bolt the bov back down to the flange on the IC pipe.

Next, cut the smaller pipe in the "P Trap" pipe kit so that you get a 180 degree bend out of it. This piece will be going on the outlet port of the bov. Next, cut the rubber hose you have to use as a coupler. Each cut should be approx. 3" long. Then, cut the longer of the "P Trap" pipe about maybe 1.25" off of the side without the flange on it.

Connect all of the pipes together with the rubber hose couplers and secure them with the hose clamps, and you are basicly done! Just make sure to check for leaks and if everything is tight.

Wow, I forgot that was in that big thread. I knew everything that everybody had to know about the kit was covered in the "bible" thread.

With stock intake or injen style pipes I would find it a problem because the recirc tube is positioned really low. I could not see the stock recirc. tube fitting. However with a dejon pipe, It should work without any kind of modification. I speak from my setup.

The writeup above uses a dejon pipe as well, it was indeed a great job, perhaps they did not have their stock hose, but with that setup the stock one should work. Here is my old setup showing that. It's the same XS fmic kit, stock recirc hose, authentic greddy type s, and dejon intake pipe..

I no longer use a greddy type s, /I use an hks ssqv now, and I surprisingly still use the stock recirc. hose. Except it had to be reversed.

Good luck.

Thanks! I get compliments on it all the time. It not only does its job well, it looks sweet, and it sounds pretty nice too. Normal driving, you get the little chirp, a medium pull with a quick let off the gas, you get a loud chirp, and a nice hard pull, it kinda sounds like a high speed drill whining for a second. It's nice.

RedTurboEclipse, yes, I did manage to loose the stock recirc pipe LOL.

That is what I assumed. The natural reaction is to TRY and make it fit as much as you can.

And yes I'm sure the hard piping makes the bov noise change a bit some how. There was an old thread a few pages long regarding this. Someone made a hard pipe recirc. tube and claimed it made the bov noise much louder, which proved true by several people whod id it.

Yes This is true. I welded a stainless 1.25" tube to replicate the stock recirc. pipe to attempt and change the sound of 2 different BOV's that I had. Yes it did work. I got it to change the sound. The air bounces off the metal piping and it sounds a bit different. I recommend people making them too, or perhaps someone will manufacture them one day....:thumb:
