Car was running perfect, but i was sucking up coolant and not leaking it out anywhere. So i pull the rad. cap off today, and i noticed oil in there. So its time for a replacement and some arp head studs. Should i go with the stock hg or go for the 4-layer ? Also where is a good place to purchase these items

Cometic multilayer HG, ive heard good things about these, i personally have the mitsu 4-layer metal HG, but if i take my head off again i will be going with a Cometic. Try any DSM website for one, like www.DSMparts.com, or www.slowboyracing.com, or the many others, or order from Cometic directly, but thats most likely an expensive option.

dont use the stocker, its paper

Uh huh, whatever. The OEM is made of composite material not paper and can hold big power. I use one on my 2.3 and I used one on my 2.0 and neither one failed. Keep in mind that if you insist on using metal headgaskets, the finish surface of the head needs to be mirror smooth to provide a tight seal.

For the original poster, you need to find out what issues caused your headgasket to fail in the first place before replacing it.

Exactly what he said. Stock composite is like a fail safe as well. If you blow anything you blow your gasket instead of internal parts like your rings ;) Happened to me with my 4 layer mitsu MLS and I'm never going back to one ever again. Sticking with the stock composite thank you. I'd rather blow up a ~$60 part then blow up the bottom end of my engine. Once you go MLS no longer is the HG your problem but then it'll go to the next weakest link which in my case were my rings.
