Real quick, after i got my FMIC put on that there is a black piece of the bumper on a 2G that covers maybe 2 in. of it...before i get too far away from it being installed, should i go back to the shop and ask to have it cut off? or should i just let it go because it would pretty much do nothing?

well here is the catch...i would have to bring it back to them and pay for it...i just never thought of it before...just curiuos on is it worth it or not? i know it will look more bad ass which would be nice, but i just got done spending a ton of money and am a little picky right now about everything

Get a sawzall and just trim it yourself. Its very easy to do so, just wear some gloves or something to cover yours hands. That support is made of fiberglass. Also cut a little at a time and then trim it as needed to make it fit.

Yes, WEAR GLOVES. Super small shards of the fiberglass WILL get stuck in your skin if you don't, and trust me, it HURTs. You can't see them, but any time you touch your skin to something the little pieces of glass will dig in, and it takes a few days to go away. Not fun.

I thought he was talking about the lil black peice on the outside of the bumper. The one people trim to make the whole bigger for the fmic???

yep that is exactly the piece i am talking about...this may be a stupid question, but its not like going to show any gain in performance is it? i dont know how touchy a front mount is or not with the air flow

Its very easy to cut that out all you need is a razor knife and a steady hand, just go over it lightly a couple of times with the razor then start applying more pressure and it will cut deeper and will cut right through. IMO makes the front end look a lot different with that black peice out, took me maybe 3 minutes to do it.

If Im not mistaken its about a 3" peice of plastic so thats 3 more " of air flow.

Seriously thats all it took? Did you do it with the bumper on your car? Most likely not just looking at your pic...
