removing center members?

hey guys i was looking at things to take off for weight reduction and just overall simplicity of the engine bay, from both above and under the engine bay. when you go under the front of the car on awd models, there are 2 bars of metal that are bolted on from the bottom, i checked in my haynes manual and it says that those are the middle and left members. do you guys think that it would be ok to remove these bars, or do they serve to great of a purpose to remove them for weight reduction?

They are braces for your fron end. I dont think it would be a good idea to remove them.

Go jack the car up, remove them, then push on your tire towards the firewall and watch what happens.
