Im really at a standstill and would like some inputs on what people suggest.

The car is a daily, but i want more power out of it (who doesn't). Basically, im not into asthetic stuff, and im concentrated on some performance. Can anyone recommend what a next good mod would be for my setup and goals, and what would benefit or help my current setup?

Mods:

Ported 2g manifold
evo 3 o2 housing
ported evo 16g
FMIC with short route piping, greddy bov (woo hoo)
Injen intake
3" downpipe, 3" straight exhaust
Turbo XS MBC
Evo 8 560 cc Injectors
SAFC2
Logger
Necessary Gauges
Revised Lifters
ACT 2100
edit: Walboro 255 lph as well

and some more little things.

Im wondering if an AFPR would benefit me the most?

Or would a set of basic cams (hks 262's?), Or maybe a set of milder cams?

Or a snowperformance meth injection? Or a 1g throttle body, 1g head, or what?

Im at a standstill and do not know what i should do next, Im following the stage 2 and have basically all of it, Im just looking for a little something more.

Im not looking to go extreme yet, the 6 bolt swap will be over winter (already piecing it together)

I guess i should also mention that my car is always 110% up to date on maintenance too, so its ready for the next mod (maintnenace before modding of course)

With that walbro 255, you should re-wire that pump and get a AFPR.

You'll be able to use that AFPR on any setup that you have.

I Believe its currently re-wired. THe car was sold to me with the 255 already in, and theres hardly any whine from it at all. I never hear it priming and its really quiet, so i think its safe to assume its been rewired as well?

Take 2 minutes and check to make sure. :) And I would suggest the AFPR as well, then water injection.

AFPR unless you like overrunning the stocker and diluting your oil. Once the FPR's done, cam that sucker.

Andy

The 255 pump will push so much fuel that it will overrun the stock regulator and force gas down the cylinder walls which has the nasty after effect of diluting the oil with raw gas.

Not only will the motor run like ass, but it can seriosuly hamper's the oil's viscosity.

Yikes. AFPR it is, i just ordered the Full Throttle bolt on kit.

Im looking into the HKS 262/274 combo now

The gas will find their way through the vacuum line from the FPR to the intake manifold?

No, it will force too much volume through the fuel rail and injectors.

If you want the 264/272 combo check out www.ffwdconnection.com for their "dks" cams. Im running them and love them so far. Extremepsi also sells the cams (free shipping).

If you dont like the idea of regrinds, then go with the fp1/fp2 combo.

Either choice in cams will cause a nice noticable gain in power with a good tune. It really comes down to how much you want to spend and what name you trust better. Do some searching on both products, call the vendors, and see who you feel more comfortable dealing with and then make your choice.

As for what order to mod. I would get the FPR, then slap the cams in. After that get the water/alcohol injection. Pick up some methanol and distilled water and have fun trying different combos of alky/water and tuning 20+psi on the evo3/pump gas while getting away with LOTS of timing advance. :sneaky:
You will have a potent street machine after that! Trust me. :thumb:

just throwing this out here:

wideband o2 (aem. zeitronics, plx, innovative motorsports, etc.)
arp head studs and head gasket (ralli art, MLS, copper one, etc.)
oh and the most frustrating part (for some DSMr's- TUNING!!)

Wideband o2 would let you get the most out of your current setup, and be good for the future. I bet tuning your fuel more would get some more power.

Cams for an immediate seat of the pants improvement. The FP1's would match the evo 16g almost pefectly, and the FP2's would be be close as well, and would allow for growth down the road.

AFPR should not be considered a 'choice" mod. It should be an "immediate need" mod. You may, as we speak, be in the process of wiping out your rings with extra fuel. I used the FP2 cams with my B16g, it matched up quite nicely. My opinion on next choice for a mod? Cams or DSMLink.

I agree. You can't pass up on the AFPR. Your car just won't run right without it. Get that first, then some cams. If you are going to spend money on cams, don't get a pair of 264's or less. Get either 264/272 or 272/272. I am running FP1/FP2 with a B16g, and it is working great. Absolutely NO idle problems. It sounds, feels, and runs like stock.

Well im currentyly building a 1g head. SS valves, springs, retainers, cams.

But currently im debating on selling my safc2, stock ecu, etc. and purchasing link.

Cams seem to be a nice idea, but i dont forsee much good coming from upgrading cams without being able to play with timing, and without link, that is not an option.

Im almost set on my next upgrade, AFPR and dsmlink for now. Ill slowly build my 1g head, but it seems like without an AFPR and link, all other considerations would prove to be useless.

AFPR, then a lightened flywheel. From personal experience I would recommend the Fidanza aluminum one. I've had no stalling issues at all with it, though apparantly others have. The flywheel won't require you to sell your stuff or buy Link, and it will make the car more fun in daily driving unlike cams, which really only come into play in high RPM racing situations.
