Ok so my girlfriend just got me some 750cc injectors but what happens if I install them with a stock fuel set-up and only a t25 turbo? I've read that I will need dsmlink but other than that will I be ok? I eventually want to install a 20G turbo and make about 400-500WHP i think thats why the sales guy sold them to her but will my car die? Do I need to upgrade my turbo? Thanks for the input

With injectors that size, I'd keep the boost low. Better yet, if you haven't installed them yet, I say keep the stockers in until you get a pump(255 hi press w/ an AFPR if you are really going for the numbers you want). DSMlink will be perfect-you won't need an AFC. MAF-T, or whatever. I could run in circles with this so instead, just go to the upgrade path in the tech guide section at the top of the page. That is the best guide to show you what to get, when to get it, and most importantly, why.

you need something to control them, be it DSMlink, SAFC, eprom chip, whatever.
DSMLink and eprom yes but SAFC on 750cc, I don't think so.

thanks for all of the replys! I'm going to get dsm link and a fuel pump. extreme psi has a walbro 255 for $95 so I can handle that. Will DSMlink run on any other pda other than a palm III? I have a visor prism. or I'll just use my laptop.

DSMLink will run on your laptop and you will need an AFPR for the 255.

Honestly, i'd sve up and just wait on it all until you upgrade the turbo. You can't squeeze out much more than stock psi out of a t-25. So i would just hang on to it all until you really need it.

But for now, i'd make sure you do things like leak test and rewire the fuel pump. Then when you get a turbo that you can push more power from install the injectors and worry about dsmlink.

I wish it was that easy. Didn't I mention my g/f got them for me? That means I got to install them. LOL Plus I'm going to need to do it anyway in the future so I'd rather install them and get all the other components to make them work with my set-up now so in the future I'll just get a turbo and bolt it up and go not having to worry about anything other than tuning.

Maybe it's just me then. But i'd personally not want to tune the car twice and get it fine tuned twice. But thats up to you man.

But just make sure you get an AFPR and gauge when you put in that 255. And make sure you rewire the pump too so you're getting full voltage. All in all though, you don't NEED to upgrade the turbo to get it all to work, but it will take some tuning to get things to run like stock again.

Without having a way to control the injectors, it would do you more harm than good installing them. You would just end up flooding the hell out of it and be damn lucky to even get it to fire up. Tell you GF that you really appreciate the gesture, but at this point you need to buy a few more items before they can go on. Take her to her favorite shoe store and spring for a pair of $40-$50 shoes and she'll forget all about them injectors.

Yup, shoes always works on my wife. Clothes too, Godiva if she did something special.

Way.... off topic here, but I agree, get something to control it and other fuel mods before you install it.

Bottom line if you want to install those injecotrs you need to be running DSMLink (since you stated this will be your chosen tunning method), you cannot run that size of injector without any compensation as they are much larger then stock you will run extremely rich. Best case the car will run like crap and be much slower (if even driveable) then stock, or worst case you could do internal engine damage from washing the cylinder walls with so much fuel. Like I said don't install them till you have DSMLink. As for the 255 pump you will need an afpr like everyone has said but you don't need those 2 items right now. You can max out the t25 without them. If you don't have the $$ for everything skip those 2 items and put the funds towards the Link. If you do have the cash then grab those 2 items as well and you'll be set when its time to upgrade the turbo. As far as tunning goes, don't worry about tunning it twice. DSMLink is very user friendly even for the first time tuner and this is something you should be able to handle yourself.

I completely understand where you're coming from, but as it was already said, make sure she understand why you can't put it on right now, but also, make sure she knows how much you appreciate what she got for you ;) If you are getting the 255, you might as well cough up another 15 bucks (give or take) for the install kit. I will also back up that the SAFC will not be enough for tuning. DSMlink is perfect.

If you buy the 255 from extremepsi.com, it's 95 bucks with the install kit. Then get the afpr kit from importevolution which is 195-250. The only thing you need then is a gauge for the afpr, which IE sells for pretty cheap.

Then pick up the Link, install it all, and make way for that 20g.

Thanks for all the input especially daren. I'm ordering DSMLink right now with the 255 and a AFPR. This ended up being an expensive present but I'm stoaked!
