I know that this may have been asked by several DSMer's but searching the furom's is not working for me today.

What better fuel filter am I able to replace with the stock setup. I am not looking to upgrade my lines at this point but would like to upgrade the filter or should I go with a stock replacement?

Thank you all

You can use bascially any aftermarket filter with the stock lines, provided you have the correct adapters and fittings.

The stock filter runs around $18.00. An aftermarket filter usually will come with a replaceable element, will look nicer, and may flow more and filter slightly better, but the stocker is good for upwards of 300-400 horsepower. If you have cash to burn, go for the aftermarket one, but the stock one will suit you just fine!

The factory filter has a bango bolt on the top, I'm not sure of any aftermarket filter that would use this style of connection. Most are -AN fittings so to install it you would need a couple fittings and some AN line to connect to the inlet of the fuel rail. Most dsm shops carry install kits for this, they usually run around $90-100. Plus of course what ever filter you choose.

I cheated, I got the aeromotive XS filter, and just bought some adapter fittings that after plugging in, leave an opening where the stock lines can bolt right in, it cost about $20 at checkers, plus the filter, I alos found the stock filter to very!!! restrictive, the lines seem good, but the filter is just restrictive.- good luck
