I need to know the specs (pipe i.d., length, etc,....) of an exhaust header for a GVR4. I'd like to fabricate one for my car. Being from the Philippines and ordering one from the U.S. of A. would cost too much due to freight and shipping charges.
Besides, a buddy of mine recently opened up an exhaust shop and he's more than willing to fabricate a set for me and others who may need it.
So far all he's got on stock are for the n/a motor. Fyi, it would only cost $65.00 to fabricate a set of stainless steel headers for a 1st gen. turbo motor. Labor and materials are quite cheap over here.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.:)

It could be done and has been done for non-mitsu turbos but most of us here in the states find that the DSM '95 and up stock cast iron manifold or the Lancer EVO III cast iron manifold are good enought. We import the EVO III manifold from Japan to the states. I can't imagine importing it from Japan to the Philippines would be any worse.
Bending up even length tubes to fit in the available space is a real trick. Look at http://www.turbo-performance.com/Products/Headers/dscf0012chromeeclipse2.0.jpg for some idea.

Hi Steve,
Thanks a lot for the reply and advice. After looking at the photo you attached in your post, you're right in saying that it's real tricky to fabricate said headers, although I'd have to say that it does look impressive.
I showed the photo to my friend who owns the exhaust shop and he tells me that it's not a problem at all to fabricate such an exhaust. He's asking for the pipe's i.d. and the length of each pipe. Would you by chance know the specs?
As for my car, I'll go right ahead and follow your advice. I'll order an exhaust manifold from an evo3 lancer and have a reputable machine shop do some porting work on it.
Thanks a lot again. I really appreciate it! :)
