boost creep?!?!?!

call me a rookie or whatever! but......im running a standard 16g and i got major boost creep! im hitting 20 psi then i hit fuel cut! im about to get a safc tomarrow to control my injectors! but i still have the boost creep to solve! i have the RRE manual boost controller and its turned all the way down! any other suggestions!???

get an exhaust, DP - o2 eliminator, upgrade to a 34mm w/g and port your manifold and youll have one fast boosting non creeping 16g!!!
 
hmmmm...im running a n1 exhaust system...and call me an idiot again but what does a watsegate do fro the car! yeah im stupid!
 
the wastegate allows exhaust to bypass the turbine, thus controlling your boost. If you had no wastegate, your boost would build interminably until the turbo ripped itself apart or the engine blew. Your mbc is hooked to the wastegate actuator which controls how much and when the wastegate is open. candela suggested going to a 34 mm flapper and porting out the wg hole to match. this will allow more exhaust to bypass the turbine. creep is caused by not evough flow through the wastegate which forces the exhaust to go through the turbo, spinning it and building more boost, which makes more exhaust, more boost, more exhaust, et cetera...

for which turbos is a 34mm flapper needed? im planning on getting a big16g ported/possibly clipped also and i was wondering with a 02 elim DP 3" turbo back would i get creep?

btw why is that dude getting creep? (orig. poster)
 
2Gs apparently have more problems with creep on 14bs and 16gs. I have creep on a small 16g with stock 02housing and stock downpipe.
 
BoostedSpyder27, you may want to check out RnR Racing's exhaust components. They're right there in San Diego even (Lakeside, actually, but don't let that scare you :D ). And they've got some of the best prices around.
 
2g have more boost creep on the 14b because they have higher compression pistons! Try and get a tubular o2 housing or port the 2g one. That will help.
 
I don't get it, doesn't the exhaust manifold bolt on to the turbine which bolts on to the o2 housing and then to the downpipe? I see some sites saying that your turbine bolts up to your downpipe, that would make sense if you had a o2 eliminating downpipe but not for a regular downpipe. But my question is, where does the wastegate go? Isn't it essentially a blow off valve for the exhaust side of the turbo?

Yes it is-- I'm not quite sure I understand your question. An O2 Eliminator downpipe still hooks up to the turbine AND the (internal) wastegate, and provides the wastegate with its own tubular pipe for expelling exhaust gases. That tube connects back onto the downpipe a few inches down the way. It's much easier to comprehend if you look at pictures-- the term "O2 Eliminator" is kinda misleading. I hope I understood your question right.

Im not bashing you for being a newb, but seriously, there have been a number of threads about boost creep and how to get rid of it, what parts to get, etc., etc. Use the search, please.

and your post was unneeded also..

34mm waste gate flapper and the O2 eliminator would be SWEET and should clear up the boost creep :D
