i have a 98' gs and i would like to put a turbo in it who makes the best kit and is it possible to choose the turbo and setup to go with it and if it is how do i go about choosing one with so many different on out there or would it just be better to drop in a gst or gsx engine and tranny

Sell your car and get a Turbo car. IT makes things so much easier. If not look into Hahn racecraft. They have the fastest RS with their turbo kit.

i would if i could find a gst or gsx 98 or 99 with under 55,000 miles in the condition of my gs for a reasonable price i would

Star also makes a turbo kit. But most people get then Hahn.

As with any product as can be shown in the above mutt vs green thread everyone has there own opinion. it's best to look each kit over and base your decision on price parts and dyno sheets/timeslips.

well where do i go i dont even know what mutt is or green you have to remember i've been living in the naturally asperated world i dont really know much about turbos wastegates blow off valves ect.....

If you list what each kit stage1 comes with I can tell you which one has the better parts.

Later,

k this is what i found hrc stage II @ 8 to 10 psi 250hp to 275hp
turbo : 16G TDO5H-16G10CM2
intercooler : plate core same as used on factory turbo upgrades
exhaust manifold : cast steel tubular design
air piping : mandrel bent tig weld power coated 2'' compressor 2 1/4''
intercooler outlet
blow off valve : standard, oe 3000GT

what is the web site for star performance

hey Racer X i think you should seriously consider what IPT said about just selling your car and buying a turbo. it really is much cheaper and more reliable in the long run, .02$

Yeah, dude. I totally agree. You gotta bite the bullet and get a turbo car!
And make sure it's AWD, IMO.

Yes AWD for sure, But if he really wants to turbo his GS I will help as best I can.

its not that i am dead set on turboing my gs -- i mean lets face it the reason they stop making the gst and gsx was sales people thought it to much buck for the bang now 4yrs later getting a gsx in good condition engine and body wise with low miles for under 18,000 is had to do i know because i've been looking everywhere local paper san antonio, austin, houston, auto trader, and every where else in between and to get one that looks as good as my gs inside and out with under 50,000 miles usually runs any where from 18,500 to 24,000 which is crazy i mean i love dsm's as much as the next person especially the GOD of all eclipse's the GSX! but thats like priced 2,500 to 8,000 over retail blue book value and that's a lot of ****en' money for a car thats almost 5 yrs old i mean if anyone out there is willing to part with there GSX and you know by reading this what kind of condition it needs to be in e-mail me or call me at (361) 510-9990 that's my cell there that is about the most i can do

Come up to IOWA. I saw a GS-t with 55,000 miles in the paper for around $10,000. No idea of the condtion, but those cars are out there you just have to look.

to iowa lets see that like a 3 to 4 day drive and if its not in good condition look at the time and money i just wasted and then to go home empty handed

With the price you pay for the turbo kit, you can probably get a stock 1G AWD.

what i'm looking 4 is a 98' or 99' i never liked the 1g body style except for the eagle talon but that not it anyway i'm trying to find something a little newer then mine with less miles if possible because it would have less ware on the engine and tranny besides i'd rater trade up in value then down and to me personally the designers for mitsubishi really fuc*k up when they totally redesigned what i thought was a great car engine and body wise the 2g and made an god awful design in the 3g and then made a bigger mistake with doing away with 2.0L TURBO
