Edmonton,
So i purchsed the "firewall install kit" from extremepsi for my aeromotive fpr, and it absolutely sucked. the fittings would not fit my stock fittings, and it gave me absolutely no where to stock the fpr. So i am basically gonna ditch the expensive kit and run down to the store to pick up some fittings, can someone tell me what exaclty i should be looking for to install this afpr on a stock fuel rail and stock lines please? also i allready have a gauge. thanks alot.

Exactly what parts don't fit? You need a fuel rail to -6 an fitting, some -6an line, -6 an fittings for the regulator (not sure exactly which ones as it depends on your regulator) and they probably included a barbed -6an fitting to hook up to the stock rubber return. The only fitting that I wasn't happy with the fit was the barbed return line, it was to large IMO for the rubber 2g return. I replaced it with an aeromotive -6an to 7mm barbed fitting from summit, which would screw directly into my regulator at one end and was a perfect fit for the factory rubber return line on the other end.

As for mounting the fpr you have to get creative as space is very limited in the 2g. I mounted mine to the drivers side of the brake master cylinder. I had to fab up a custom bracket and move a solinoid (fps ? can't remember, been to long) to another location.

Edit: Nevermind on the mounting, I see your a 1g. You should easily be able to find a spot to mount the fpr.

Get a good piece of metal, one that wont break if you bend it. Take a look at my pictures in my profile. That is a perfect spot to mount the FPR. I Created a bracket with two 90 degree bends so that i could get the FPR over the master brake cylinder. Came out very nicely and it is low enough from the hood.

sorry, this is for my 2g, my 1g has a b&m, im just wondering if a B&m will be suffieicnt for the set-up i will have for this year which includes, evoIII 16g, 950cc, dsmlink, 255 walbro. ect. what do you guys think?
my mainf problem with the fpr was 1) where to mount it. 2) the line that goes to the stock rubber line and 3) getting the steel braided hose in
is the steel brade necessary?

Alright so it is for a 2g, then yes space is really tight. If you refer to my above post, thats how I mounted mine. If you'd like I think I have some pics somewhere showing my install to help you out, just have to find them. For the return, like I said the aeromotive fitting I found works perfect, it is abit on the expensive side at $18. -6an o ringed male thread at one end that will screw directly into your aeromotive fpr and a 7mm hose barb at the other that your factory rubber return line will slip right over & have a nice tight fit. As for the steet braid, there are several different types of hoses you can use but they depend on which type of fittings you are going to use. Theres the ss overbraid, then theres the hose that I run is has a black (nylon I believe) overbraid (wanted black for the sleeper look) then there is also the push lock style fittings that use a black hose without any overbraid.

No you don't want to run the b&m unit with the 255 pump, it just makes the stock fpr adjustable but doesnt do anything towards the problem of the 255 pump over running the return.

nice pics, thanks.
so its okay to use to just use a normal metal clamp to hook up the ss fitting to the stock return?
couldnt i just use normal fuel line for the return and use a -6a to 3/8 connecter for the return?

Im sorta confused with your wording. You shouldn't have to use any SS braided line on the return portion (from the outlet of the fpr to the return line) They should have included some sort of barbed fitting that will screw into the regulator return, more then likely a -6an push lock fitting? You are just supposed to slide the factory rubber return line over this & clamp it. Personally I found the -6 barbed fitting to large to work with the 2g return line (it can be done but you have to stretch the hell out of the return line to get it over, which I didn't like), thats why I suggested the 7mm barbed fitting.

Heres how I mounted mine, I fabbed up a second bracket that attaches to the origional bracket that comes with the regulator. The factory fps was in the way of where I wanted to mount the fpr so you can see in the 3rd pic I removed the fps, bent the bracket the opposite way and mounted it behind the intake manifold with the other solinoids, looks factory :thumb:
