I wanted to get some of your opinions on this. I think my AutoMeter EGT has kicked the bucket . It is going crazy with the needle jumping all over the place. I wanted to know if I should replace it or just do away with it now that I have an AEM wideband O2 sensor. let me know your thoughts.

If you got the money, go with the Wideband. Its much easier to tune with a wideband.

It sounds like you have a grounding issue or a wireing issue. The needle shouldnt bounce around liek that. If you do in fact need a new probe, go get yourself a TRE Probe. They are supper fast. http://teamrip.com/

Like I said, I already have the Wideband. Alot of people have told me I really don't need an EGT if I have a wideband.

Ah oops, i thought you were wondering if buying a wideband would be prefered. Sorry about that. Yes you dont really need your EGT Gauge anymore. The wideband will read what you need to see.

EGT probes from autometer are junk to begin with. They need to be replaced every once in a while. They can get brittle and break off and pieces will end up in your turbo. When I used to have an EGT before I got a wideband ;) I used a TRE probe. It lasts longer, reads EGT's faster, and cant break off like the autometers can. Get your replacement probe at www.teamrip.com

So, in my case, i have neither a wideband or an EGT. You guys are suggesting wideband over an EGT?

Can wideband read EGT? And with a wideband would it even be worth it to keep a logger?

A wideband is defently better then an EGT. EGT is nice to have for reference but you can get high egt's from both too much and too little fuel, so its not a very good tunning method. Can a wideband read egt? not directly (as in its parts of the O2 sensor) but some models offer the option of adding an egt probe. No you still defently want to keep your logger. A wideband will tell one thing, your air/fuel ratio, just because thats setup correctly doesn't mean everything else is operating properly, you still need your logger to know exactly whats going on.

Yeap they are good i run mine with a laptop and it does excatly what you need.
