So I have a 1990 Talon TSI and I am going to upgrade my radiator to an aftermarket by either Koyo or Fluidyne (I haven't decided yet). I've seen alot of pictures online of Koyo Aftermarket radiators but I can't seem to find anything specific to my car, they all look the same and are generic pictures I think. But today I found a picture of a Koyo Radiator on a DSM in a D-Sport magazine and to my disappointment it looked as if the radiator cap on top of the radiator had been cut off and sealed by some sort of ugly fabrication (like a weld). I was wondering if anyone else had purchased a Koyo Radiator for a 1G eclipse. If so could you tell me if yours had a radiator cap on top or not? If not, was it scabbed off and welded over like in the picture I found? Any pics you guys have on this matter would help me alot.

Thanks everyone, I am waiting to purchase right now because of this one issue...

i don't know about a 1ga but on my 92 talon, the rad. cap is on the thermostat housing up by the block. there isn't a cap at all on the radiator. which would then make me assume there isn't one on an aftermarket. actually, if i recall correctly, the descripstion of the koyo on srb says something to the effect of "all radiators are oem style". which means it would look exactly the same, just aluminum with metal endtanks.

Well my radiator cap is right above the thermostat as well, but I want to know from someone who owns a 1g Koyo aftermarket rad. if there is no cap, and if so does it look like they tried to cover out the hole where there used to be one (looks ugly).

Just installed a koyo today, it has no cap on the top. It is exactly like the oem

this is a 2g, but this is what it looks like. no nasty welds. just beauty. :thumb: I'm impressed by the quality, and wouldn't expect them to cheap-out on the 1g version.
