Just bought a '93 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. I was going to start putting mods on right away. Was wondering does anyone have any ideas on a good, affordable intake is going to be? Also is the N-1 Apexi exhaust good??

for the intake all you can get right knaw is the k&n filter and remove the can, and the n-1 apex i exhost is good :)

How do you figure the N1 "BLOWS"? Do you have one? It is a full 3" all the way back isn't to loud and looks pretty good too. There are only a few exaust that offer the same and I think the choice all boils down to the sound.

I've heard nothing but good things about the N1. It's what I'm planning on getting. I like the fact that you can make it quieter so everybody doesn't hear you from a half mile away. How can it "blow" when it is 3" mandrel bent? Just my 2cents

Nah i dont know anything i havent been into these cars for 2 years or anything. I dont work at a performance shop speciallizing in DSM's or anything. I havent done my research.

Wheres your evidence? Wheres your hard numbers? I'm not calling you a liar but if you are going to state somthing please back up your statements. The N1 has taken quite a few cars into some very low times. Like was stated before 3" mandrel bent with an excellent flowing muffler, I don't see anything wrong with that. And being into cars for 2 years isn't very long I've owned my 2G for 4 years and my 1G for 2 years. Please give us some of your research proof I'm always up to learning.

My bad i meant 3 years. The N1 necks down to 2.5" at its flanges. The buschur and ATR dont. The ATR does if u get it flanged for a cat test pipe ETC. ALOT of exhaust's do this. The full Buschur 3" doesnt, the ATR(non flanged doesnt). Thats why i stick with ATR and Buschur exhausts.

You are correct that it does flange down, but the flange that goes from 3" to 2.5 is only about a 4" section that unbolts from your exaust system so you will have a full 3" exaust system once you install aftermarket cat and down pipe. This has to be installed on any exuast that may be bolted up to a stock system, because the bolt pattern will not allow for a 3" flange. I can take pics. of it next time I have my car jacked up so you can see what I'm talking about.

Yeah Greddy & Apexi aren't stainless... they are coated mild steel. I think the Apexi would be a good choice. I personally run an ATR downpipe, 3" dynomax 18" long bullet muffler in place of the cat, & a 3" thermal cat back w/ the 2.5" neckdown cut off. This combo is not obnoxiously loud like the Buschur. I'm not a big fan of the cheap mufflers (dynomax ultraflow) that Buschur uses w/ his exausts either. If you are going to pay the $$$.. might as well get SS. They will last alot longer & when you go to sell it at some point.. it'll be worth more $$$.

Can we please stop all the flaming about exhaust systems. All the above systems will flow great and make good power. I like the thermal because its all stainless and looks nice when my car gets put up on a lift. the n1,buschur,atr and many others are all great systems. lets try to help the guy with his question, instead of arguing.

I didn't see anyone flaming anyone, everyone gave there opinion on the exhaust systems, and I respect all of them. I have read many of Sean91TDRTSi's other post and he seems very knowledgeable about DSM's. I apologize if I came off as flaming someone.

Mike

I have the ATR and as I have commented many times I have never seen a striaghter or better flowing exhaust.

Later,

My friend has the dunk for his 95' gsx and we measured the piping. I know for a fact it doesn't neck down at the flanges. I'm getting the n1 because of the sound. It's the best sounding exhaust that I've heard on a dsm.

Here's some good advice: check this page before you do anything:

The N1 isn't a bad choice. Everyone has their favorite. Mine is the Thermal. Many like the Buschur. You can find all the parts that are available here:
