Hey what do you guys think of the new dsmparts GT manifold?

It definately does look like a nice manifold for the price. I think that a ported 2g manifold will flow plenty of air though and you can most likely find one cheaper. My favorite manifold right now is the sbr cast one with the external wastegate bung..
 
There are plenty of threads out here talking about this GT mani. I remember even seeing a review on this exhaust mani. I think the best exhaust mani(not tubular) is SBR's cast mani.

The piece though looks nice, and the review is pretty impressive. You should check it out. I think it is in the newbie or bolt-on section. Just search and you will find it. Looks like a nice piece though.

I also agree with you can probably find a perfectly good 2g manifold and get it ported for less. I just sold one for 50 bux. And there's no arguement that the SBR cast manifold flows the most but what about how the air flows? If you notice there is no divider in the collector to point the air in the right direction. Not sure what that does for peroformance but they say keep it in there for a reason.
 
I just got mine from turbochargers.com for $145 shipped and it is way nicer than a 2g manifold. I couldn't see spending $300 + dollars on the SBR manifold and this was exactly what I needed. No porting necessary and flows alot better than my 2g.:thumb:

so you actually put it on the flowbench? or your just assuming because you want to feel like you got a good deal? seriously. its not all about flow. its about velocity and other things as well.

No flowbench. I just compared it to my 2g ported manifold and the ports are obviously larger. It came pre-tapped for my EGT and comes with the extra nickel content just like the SBR. I just put it on about a week ago so no, I havn't dynoed the car since I swapped them out and don't really plan on it. I can tell I have gained power up top and it is just a manifold, I didn't really expect any major gains. He asked for opinions and thats what I gave him.

it's a great looking manifold, I've gotten nothing but good feedback from people I've asked about it.


I am sure that the SBR mani is a great piece, but as I paid half of what they're asking for this manifold i'm twice as happy to have the money to spend elsewhere.


In my opinion it is a great alternative to buying a used ported manifold or buying an EVO III manifold.

fitment was great, the install kit was included as well as an exhaust manifold gasket. I would highly reccomend it for the price.


If I had more money to spend I wouldn't consider the slowboy, I'd just go Tubular already. Why pay a lot for a cast mani when you can buy one of these for so cheap a price?

Why are you worrying about anything other than a 2G manifold when your list shows nothing?

Get get of that shitty 1G manifold, find a 2G, and you'll be in business. You do not need a Slowboy, Turbochargers.com, Logic Performance, Bla bla bla manifold unless you're pushing some serious power.
 
Yeah, just look at evil eagle. He's doing 10's a ported stock 2g manifold. Just save the money and get a used 2g manifold.
 
I was going with a ported evo manifold had an upported one on my 50 trim 1g and it seemed fine.I saw this dsm one and was thinking of getting it but wondering if it will clear the FP3065 external gate.i am quite sure the gate clears the 1g,2g and evo manifolds .If anyone has a FP turbo with one of these would appreciate knowing if it clears.

I also heard FP might clearance the gate or the manifolds they sell not sure on that either.Sent them a few emails with no response. Guess have to phone them.
Sure could sell the gt manifold at worst for the price its going for.
 
ISUJakey, why are you worrying about what I'M worrying about. I just asked for your opinion. I didn't ask if I could add neon to the underside of my car or whether i could add a bov that made a WHOOOSH sound. For some reason that got under my skin. My knowledge in Chevy V8s could run circles. Just because I'm still considered a "newbie" and i dont have my profile updated every minute of everday doesn't make me retarded. I'm currently in the middle of a rebuild...just in case you're worried.
I dont mean to be a dick but i dont like being treated like George Bush.:D

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate this argument.

Again, it's stupid to say a mod is pointless because someone else has run x time without it.

Someone has gone 11's on a t25 with stock fuel system in a fwd. We must all be wasting our times with these silly mods.
