I'm going to remove my A/C. I was looking at it and there is a small little idler pulley that looks like it goes into the timing belt area, I won't have a problem by not having that hooked up right?

Nope.... that, the compressor, the belt, all the lines and everything can go with no problems at all. Theres also a bracket on the back of the block holding the compressor to it. Theres like 6 bolts or something, some aer kind hidden, but its sorta heavy and in the way and worth taking out as well

I already got all the lines and everything else out but the compressor. Also don't I have to cut the bracket and leave the lower part for something that goes on the tranny? Some bearing or something.

Umm... Actually if you have a 1G AWD>> then yes. You should cut the ear off of the one corner> (It says you have a 2G> I dunno if it's the same on them).

There is one corner that is shared with the drivers side axle half-shaft.

If you were to not cut and leave that corner> it would tighen down the half shaft bearing at an odd angle...potentially causing problems.

I just used a dremel tool and hacked that corner of the a/c bracket off and stuck it back in then bolted it in place. :)

Laters!
Jason.

How did you get the a/c condensor out? Ive been tryin to get my out
for the past month, and i jes cant see how it does!? Theres no room to move it or get it out!!! What steps did u take on removing it?

Im sorry. i had my own bracket for it actually so I totally eliminated mine completely. When i took out my condensor my radiator was already out....much easier that way

I first removed the condensor, then the little canister behind the the drivers side headlight and the lines that run from the condensor to the compressor. The next day I started working on the a/c compressor. I removed the two lines that run to the firewall right under the battery. So now I had all the lines removed from the engine bay and nothing was left but the compressor and the backet. I then unbolted the 4 bolts that holded the compressor to the braket and then move the compressor back under the intake manifold. I then started on the bracket. after you remove the bracked, I unbolted the brake resovouir from the firewall and moved it to the side (make sure the cap is tight). I then unbolted those two little connectors that are attached to the upper timing belt cover. Now you should have enogh room to get the compressor out pretty easily. I also had the timming belt cover off if it makes a difference.
