Best engine oil for drag use?

Need some opinions about best engine oil for drag use... Running C16.. Debating on Royal Purple and Quaker State Full synthetic... What do you guys recommend? Th

I always run a 20-50 or straight 50W oil.

I did some research with this. I compared Motul and Mobil 1 both synthetics.

The test car was a 99 Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0L inline 6.

With the motul in the car, the car ran cooler and got 68-71 more miles per tank. On the highway the motor ran at normal operating temps. But around town the car ran a lot cooler. The car also idled smoother. And it got nasty in 2nd gear and chirped 3rd after this.

As for burning oil. The Jeep didnt burn any oil with either of the two.

I also ran this oil in my 01 Z28 M6. Bone stock the car went 13.1@107 with this oil in the car. Not sure if the oil helped this time or not. But it seems to be fast for a stock Z28.

I agree theres way to many variables, but gas mileage does change tank to tank. A certain oil is not gonna make your car more powerfull or get you better gas mileage. Thats like saying "my iceman intake gave me 20 hp yo" Sorry but, thats straight up retarded.

No offense but thats the stupidest thing I have heard. An oil that is slicker, will reduce friction in the motor. The motor will run better, have more power, and get better gas milage. Most people wouldn't notice the difference because its so minor but it does help.

A better oil will make the engine last longer. Yes, it's "slicker", but we're not talking about any hp gains worth mentioning. No one looks for hp by choosing the right oil! Well, I guess at least some people do, but whatever...

I run Mobil 1 synthetic. Always have. Love it, live by it.

I ran a 11.949 @120 on cheap walmart oil 10w-40. best part is until the car was sold it still had perfect compression across the board

Oil is oil is oil is oil. Out here in the fields, the difference is in the price. You'll find wide variances in the laboratory, but you won't match any of it in your engine.

And SlowImport, "Miles per tank" is a nonsensical, absurd number.
