hey i work at a Jeep and (fprmer eagle)dealer ship, and i wanted my 1991 talon worry free for a while so i was thinking of getting a brand new factory block, and getting a buschur racing head, and then a JDM tranny but i wanted to know how much a new engine (block) would cost? and i wanted to know if anyone has ever done this before!thanks

Call mitsu and get ripped off.. i mean find out. Its cheaper to just rebuild what you have with better parts, or buy a old block and go from there. Now if you want a good strong transmission send it over to shepracing.com or teamrip.com

just get a good used JDM longblock awdtranny etc etc for about 1300 plus shipping. you dont need a brand new block just a block with good compression and not a whole lot of wear and tear. keep the old block you got and kick some new internals in there for when you start making 600 hp and blow up your stock block you have a back up forged block.
you dont need a new tranny if you know how to drive. if you dont know how to drive you will break a 2 grand team rip tranny just as fast as a stock one. locked c diff spools from tre help out alot on tranny life.
thats just my .02 cents. Whats Your ?
