i had problem instaling my 880cc injectors, for some reason fuel rail is not fitting after i
put injectors in. i forced to put them in and now i have fuel leak. One more thing that was suprising for me was that leaked fuel fired up and i had fire under my hood. It was nothing big , but im wordering what would fire up the fuel.
thank s

Heat, I'm not sure of the burning temp. of fuel, but i'm sure it isn't too high, and temps. under the hood can get pretty darn high. Oil on an engine can catch fire.

If you know you have a fuel leak, and you start the car, you're asking for a fire. You're lucky you're alive

nope i didnt know i had fuel leak, not until i saw the flame

Is it leaking at one of the ends of the fuel rail, meaning either where the filter line attaches or the end with the regulator? Or do you mean to say it's leaking where the injectors mate to the rail?

Did you check to make sure all of the lower injector insulators were in when you changed the injectors? They seem to come out about 50% of the time when I take mine out. Also, did the new injectors come with new upper O-rings? :laser:

its leaking somewhere in the middle of the fuel rail (probably from injectors), and they had O rings. I bought them on the ebay , but they hardly fit.

there is one more thing i should mension it, i lost one of the rubber washers that comes under the fuel rail and its the middle one. I tided other two on the end and third one without washer with just the screw(not very tight )

That middle spacer you're missing seems to be the problem. Also, when you installed the injectors, did you remove the old 0-rings and replace them with the new ones. I do believe when you pull out the stock injectors, some of the 0-rings come out with the injector and some are sometimes stuck on the head (all you do is pull them out with a flathead). Make sure you removed all 4 old ones and replaced the new 4 properly. If you have done this, then the missing middle spacer is your problem. Please don't drive the car until this problem is resolved, you were lucky to get away with the flame. Good luck.

Are you talking about the 4 spacers between the rail and the injectors or the 3 spacers for the mounting bolts? Did you lubricate the new injector o-rings before you slide them into the rail?

no i didnt , and it has only 2 spacers, each one on the end

Come on now, you've been here long enough to know the importance of answering questions in detail. There are two types of spacers like I listed above, which one are you missing?

i said that on beggining of the tread, i suppose to have three rubber spacers under the fuel rail. im missing one in the middle

Always lubricate the o-rings to avoid tearing them. You need to install the middle spacer, let's hope the problem is a torn o-ring instead of a cracked rail due to over tightening of the center mounting bolt.

i hope so too, but i was cafefull when i was tightening middle bolt. Again i dont think this should be the problem. I think that i have to instal injectors somehow different because they barely fit, or i dont know ... will try to post some pic s
