I bought a 91 AWD Automatic Talon Tsi for $300 dollars that had a blown engine. My friend had an engine out of a manual with a new head on it he sold me for $500 bucks. It was just rebuilt, the head was new.
Cams are manual cams too.

Ok, once I got this other car home I found out the tubro was pretty much melted.

I bought a 14b turbo off this guy for $150 bucks.

I also bought a 3 inch down pipe, 3 inch exhaust, and a magnaflow muffler. No cat..

I currently have all this on the car. Its pretty much stock. I still have the 390cc stock automatic injectors too. I have a set of 450cc's I'm going to install when I get around to it.

My question is, what should my boost levels be? I installed an Autometer 30/30 boost gauge. My vac level is 15 when I idle, 20 when I'm going down the road and let off the gas. When I get on the gas really hard I hit 15 pounds on the turbo. I hit fuel cut too due to the small injectors but is 15 too high? Should I install a manual boost controller and back it down some?

Any thoughts?

I would saw 11lbs untill you do something about the fuel. Im running stock everything and im at 11lbs, and I dont want to go anyware higher till i upgrade fuel pump. HTH

with the 3 inch exhaust he is probally creeping up to 15psi. shouldnt hurt the car but you never know. i hear anything over 14 without a fuel pump is bad. getting a manual boost controller wont lower the psi. the lowest you can go is what the wastegate open at. regardless i do not believe that the wastegate is the probelm. i think its boost creep.

that my .o2 cents whats your ?

i have a 16g and all stock fuel do a fuel pump rewire i did and havent hit and problems on 18 psi when racing

Hrm ok well what is a Manual Boost Controller used for then? I was under the impression it was used to limit your boost.

One of my friend gave me a Hallmen Manual Boost Controller he had laying around.

Do you really need a bigger fuel pump for 390cc/450cc injectors? I mean right now I have the 390's and I'm having these problems. I was going to put the 450cc's in to give the car a lil more gas but hell 390's and 450's are stock. Why would I need a bigger fuel pump?

I also have a new in the box Apexi Super-AFC just sitting on my desk. Would it be worth using it? I was going to throw it on EBay for like $200 bucks, I only paid $100 bucks for it new in the box. Kid who sold it to me was hard up for cash.

Use the afc and save for bigger injectors!! You have feul management now, thas what gits high boost levels. I agree with cpracing rewire and 450 at least... I will buy that AFC for 200.00 in a heartbeat. PM me if it does go on ebay.

Well what would happen if I were to put the 450cc injectors in right now without wiring in the AFC? I still have the normal automatic ECU and such. Would I need the AFC to set them up right?

Should I use the AFC then, hell I dont know :p
