got a turbo off of a 2001 evo nedd help

I think I got a good deal, I just bought an "aftermarket" turbo,o2 housing fmic and chrome piping A "injector for the throttle body?" and cold air intake off of a wrecked 2001 lancer
I got this stuff from a junk yard in Ohio shipped to me for $200 I have not received it yet so i don't know what kind of turbo it is
any way I was told that none of this stuff would work on my 1g by a locale dsm guy
any ideas on if it will or how to make it work would be great
oh yea any idea on what that throttle body injector is( that is what the guy at the yard called it)

Well, I would not exactly call your find a "deal" b/c I think you will find you are going to have a hard time fitting on those parts onto the older 4g63...The turbo's are faced different ways in evo's and definitely are different so it will probably need a custom manifold...The FMIC can be able to fut but you will need custom piping and the chrome piping will just be a waste...CAI probably not able to use on this car either...Best bet would be trying to sell the stuff to EVO's, unless of course you like custom making and fabricating everything...

I knew when i boghtit i should be able to sell the stuff and get my money back
my shope has a tubing bender so i can get the fmic to work

after useing the search I learned the turbo would be a twin scroll. But couldn't i buy a manifold off a evo8 and use it with a custom down pipe?

oh yea I'm not sure it is a evo either it might be a turboed lancer

Off subject but I like your scoop you do that?
 
we know its not an evo, because it is an 01 car. Therefor it must be a turbo-ed lancer. :talon:
 
why honesly put that much effort and pita into a turbo that is going to give you minimal gains over a evoIII 16g, or not even touch a 50 trim which are both fiarly bolt on setup's

my opinion sell it and buy something useful maybe u can pocket some money on the deal.
 
I know of a member of team nabr who went 11.53 on his 1g with an evo8 turbo. He had to make a custom downpipe for it because the turbo is set up backwards or mirrored to ours. not bad though, just not really worth the effort unless you know what you are doing and can fab up the parts pretty easily.
 
hey i have an idea, why dont you take the evo 8 turbo you have and switch out the exhaust housing for a bullseye housing or something. that will fix the direction it will have to face, right?
just and idea, did not think it through, but it just might work.

Even though i posted the link, i think that something like that is a waste of money unless you got all the tools and knowledge to do it yourself and even then it might still be not worth it. Local club menber went 11.5 at 121 on his evo 3 16g powered 1g.

Huh? The Lancer and the Evo did not exist in this country in 2001. So it could be off an Evo VI or VII, or a Lancer 4G93T.

damn someone form the 318 :thumb: , i'm from tensas parish but in jacksonville, fl.(navy) to answer your question use the fmic and get custon piping, sale the other stuff to someone with an non turbo eclipse.
