well it is exactly what i said above, the injectors are leaking air above 4psi. if you move them at all it sounds like a bov and they release all of the pressure. the injectors i am using currently are the 750cc RC's. i bought stock replacement injector seals. the problem i am having now is getting my injectors to seal. a quick question, are the 3 seals that are fitted under the fuel rail, where the bolts go through them and bolt down the fuel rail. are they supposed to be hard or soft. mine are very hard and they will not allow me to tighten down the fuel rail a lot. so maybe they should be softer to push the injectors in a bit more?
thanks for the help

The black plastic spacers are there so you don't overtighten the fuel rail, which could be a safety hazard. There are actually torque specifications for the fuel rail bolts, you shouldn't have to tighten more than the torque spec. You will want to make sure your injectors are seated properly and you are using the proper seals for those injectors.

I had an issue with my RC550 leaking boost. I kept replacing the lower injector seals thinking that was the problem. They would hold boost for about a week then leak again. I ended up getting the upper injector seals and replaced those and my problem was solved. No more boost leaks.

I compared the new upper seals with the ones off my car and they were significantly different. The old ones were crushed from years of use. I figure you need the lower and upper seals to compress properly to prevent boost leaks.

In case this was unclear, the lower seals are between the injectors and the head. The upper seals are between the injectors and the fuel rail. :thumb:

just for the record, they are not hard plastic, they are rubber. they turn to hard plastic from the heating and cooling over the years...if they are hard, replace them and they will seal back up.

The 3 spacers are hard plastic but the 4 seals are rubber

That is not correct. They are SPACERS and are there for a reason. They are all hard. I would call up RC and see if they have any sugestions for you FIC would be another possibility to get a higher quality seal I know FIC has high temp high boost seals.

well i might have to do that, i took out my injectors again today and reinstalled them, i tried to seal them with all purpose grease since i tried high temp silicone last time. they still would leak, i torqued the fuel rail down to 8 ft lbs and everything. they still freaking leak, this sucks man, the car cannot be tuned until i fix this. i am running really rich right now and the car feels like crap at high rpms and it does not feel anywhere near as fast as before, and it back fires at high rpms. I'm guessing the car is running to rich because the boost is being accounted for and more fuel is being dumped in, then when the air gets to the injectors it leaks out. and this is just giving the bike tire pump like 6 pumps through the throttle body using my leak tester, not even 4psi of boost and they start to leak. i check for leaks in 2 ways, one through the turbo to the piping that goes up to the throttle body, and then another on the throttle body elbow just for the intake manifold basically. i am interested in what you said about the FIC's, they do look almost exactly like my injectors, what makes their seals high boost and better at sealing. I'm kind of betting most people in this forum are leaking from the injector seals if they are still using the stock injector seals on aftermarket injectors, maybe not though.
thanks for the help, but more is needed.

yes thanks, check out the post above yours bud ;) i just read it wrong is all

I am having this same problem with my RC550's. All four brand new lower insulators are leaking like a sieve. I mean it sounds literally like a constant blowoff valve when I hook my tester up. Those stock gromets/sheets that go around the top of the injector do not fit snugly around the injector so they end up flexing inwards instead of transferring that force to lower insulator. I am going to look for some rubber or metal bushings to replace those pieces of crap so I can get the car runnin again.

I'm having the same problem, although not quite as bad as some of you described. I ordered new Viton seals from FIC but haven't put them in yet-- I'm thinking this will fix the problem. If not, I'll replace the upper seals (O-rings) as well. I can see the leak from around one of the lower seals, however, when I do a boost leak test and spray soapy water on it.

hey you guys, i actually fixed the problem. i have a leak somewhere else now but at least it is not were the injectors are. what i did is i bought some high temp silicone or what they call gasket maker. and i put that around some new factory replacement lower seals, the ones that go between the head and the injectors. when i put them into there they would of course stay there because of the silicone, but then what i did was i put silicone all around the seal and just sealed it to the head, there where no longer gaps around the injector seal and then i let it dry over night. then the next day when you put the injectors and fuel rail back in i put some all purpose grease around the tip of the injectors so that they would slip in without breaking the seal that i created. make sure not to get silicone in the center of the donut, well at least not a thick layer. i got some in the middle but i smoothed it out so that it was not lumpy or anything, that way when you push the injector in, it does not push some of the silicone into the head. try this, your car will be out for one night, but it truly worth it. i did not think it would work, but sweet97 convinced me to try it and thanks to him i fixed this bad boost leak.
try it, it works.

I did this also but found they held boost for about 3 weeks, then leaked again. That is just me though. Be sure to retest after a while and hopefully it works for you. I ended up doing what I posted on earlier in this thread which solved my problem. :thumb:
