Which wastegate option should I get?

Well, at the end of the month, I plan to order a o2 elim full turbo-back from RNR and I have a question. What I'm planning is getting this for my 14b then later on, I'm planning on going much bigger, most likely a gt30r with the external wastegate on the SBR manifold, re-routed back into the exhaust. Now, which option should I get with the turbo back? I'm thinking the externally dumped one but I live in CA. If I decide to go with the the re-routed one, I'd have a problem later on with exhaust gasses coming out. So what I thought of doing in this scenerio is to make a metal plate in the shape of the o2 housing gasket except with one hole where the exhaust gasses go to the downpipe. What do you guys think I should do? Thanks.

It all depends on how you will set the boost on the big turbo...

I run high boost always and my internal gated PTE SCM61 is just fine with a internal gate. Its in the Gt35R ballpark size wise.

The only time a external is really needed for most people is when running low boost on the street with a big tubo....

IMHO.. If you are going to run a big turbo with low boost.. why run a big turbo.. like lag or something...

Therefore port your 2g exhaust manifold to 7cm2 and later Just get the internally gated AGP GT30R they build on a bullseye turbine housing..

My car is getting extremely fast and I never bought any of the super expensive parts.

Some of my stuff is big $ new but I got it 1 season old on a racing parts trader..
SX pump and reg for example... My 1680s were from fiveomotorsports and I turned them down to fit myself... Added -10 fittings tapped into a anodized stock rail.. etc.. Its all done right but not at great expense.

When it came down to the turbo system I looked at this car and thought...Hey look

BR ported 2G exhaust manifold
BR650(PTE) internally gated turbocharger

A ported 2g mani and a PTE turbo should work good for me too..

I would take the money and time you would have spent monkeying with the wastegate dump and put it into DSM link or AEM and tuning that thing..

I'm not sure if this makes too much of a difference but around here I can only get 91 octane gas. How much psi are you running? Have you ever experieced boost creep? At what set psi? Thanks.

In that case drop your compression ratio to that of a 1g or so... 7.8:1 maybe even 7.5:1...

You wont get creep on the AGP..

I dont get it on mine either but I have never ran under 25lbs..

Thanks for your input, I really do appreciate it, now I'm really considering an internal w/g. Unfortunately, I have Weisco's 9.3:1 pistons already installed in my 6 bolt, so I'm not going to replace them anytime soon.

Just curious but what would be your opinion on this:

Also, I've been reading some posts an this turbine housing and I was wondering if RNR's turbo-back will bolt up to this or would I have to get a special flange?

Thanks. :thumb:

That is a high CR... Look for E85 stations around your area.. Thats about the right static CR for running boost on the mostly alcohol mix.... Also consider a SCE ICS titan gasket in a much thicker size than normal..

It will bolt up but unless you have some high octane gas I think you will have to run it on lower boost. Internal gates cant run super low boost accurately...

My boost control at a PSI that justifies having a turbo that big on up is just fine with the internal gate...

Whoops, I meant 8.3:1, not 9.3:1. Sorry. And thanks for your help, I really appreciate that you can give insight on this subject.
