people on here say all the time that the 1g head is way better, but I really want to know What kind of horsepower people have made with the 2g head and 2g intake manifold, where there horsepower is dying off, and where there peak torque is..

I have a 60-1 and full supporting mods and am trying to figure it out...

yes i did a search on it and am not finding anything but ( 2g heads suck)... so enlighten me

thanks

Andrew

Well a lot of people try to help and point out stuff. Ill let you know how my setup goes... I have a 95gst auto.. Still have the 7bolt with ross pistons, eagle rods, 2g head with hks 272/272 cams, magnus intake manifold.... Run a pte 60-1 turbo.. Dsmlink... 2g heads do not suck.... When ported they can perform maybe even better than 1g heads.. Maybe.hehe. If you really want to shine with ## 60-1 I suggest getting a magnus intake manifold and some aggressive camshafts...Good luck.

Better for what? Do you want to drive across town and get groceries? Stay with the smaller-port 2G so you have the power at lower rpm. If you want to be the fastest car at the track (which you never will be), then get the 1G to flow at high rpms.

velocity > flow . Just because a 1g head has bigger ports doesnt mean anything for a street car.

Im Asking For Stock Intake Manifold And Head....

did you read these?

And heres some good bed side reading for the 2g head flow #'s

All in all your limiting factor is not the head its the intake which stops making power somewhere around 5500rpms.

Do a search under "extrude hone" I know someone did this to a 2g intake and picked up some flow but after the cost it was'nt effective. I would love for someone to flow bench both of these heads to put this to rest. There are so many variables in the flow of air its hard to nail down #'s like HP and TQ limits. Just start out with a stock 2g head and intake and then go from there.

make your own write up and make us all a little smarter. ;)

You can make make as power as you want andrew, as long as you get the melvin touch on it....LOL

Dont sweat it man, your car will run great and be fast. Now, stop worrying and drive your car allready!!

I would gasket match the intake. Leave the port floor on the intake and head where it is and raise the roof to match the gasket... In reality you are port matching the floor and sides and gasket matching the port roof...
