Removing all stock guages for aftermarket. Is it possible?

I have this really bad idea to replace all the factory guages in the car, and install aftermarket ones. I have no clue if this is possible, and how much of a headache is may be.

I would still place the aftermarket guages in the stock locations, (speedo, fuel, volt, etc..), And im sure ill have to use all the sendors for the guages, but is it gonna screw up anything in the car or the computer.

Yea, you can do it. I have a 1G with oil pressure and water temp replaced with Autometer gauges. Use the new sensors and run the wires to the instrument cluster. Cut the circuit board and use jumpers due to the depth of the gauge. It will take some time.....good luck.

What do you mean with the jumpers? And were there any problems after cutting the board?

I remember seeing a post on dsmtalk a few years ago by a guy who put a bunch of SunPro gauges in the stock locations. It looked good but it required making a new gauge face plate to hold the gauges.

It is possible. Nick Drake at Pina Motorsports did it with an Autometer water temp and oil pressure gauges. There is a picture around here somewhere of the finished product.

It'll hurt more in your wallet than in your head.

Im not too worried about the cost. Im trying to work out a deal to get the gagues for free. Im only going to do it if this works out.
