Ok I'm looking for some sort of flex pipe or slipon piece to keep my wastegate piping welds from cracking. The big bi*** is its 1.5" (38mm) and I can't find anything this small. This setup is for a different car entirely so theres nothing aftermarket wise for it. Anyone have any suggestions where to find something like this that I need? Thanks

JC whitney has mandrel bends that are 1.5" I'm pretty sure you can get them in stainless and aluminized. One question though why are your welds cracking at all?

I think that he was asking for a flexible section for his dump tube and I am not for sure where you could find one of those. You may want to call Summit and see if the guys there can source you out something.

I am also wondering why your welds are cracking. I would think that if you have a flex section in the downpipe then then the wastegate is going to move with the manifold, turbo, o2 housing, etc. and everything should hold together. I am guessin that you are running the dump back into the downpipe and that is why it is cracking, but I have never heard of the piping running from the wastegate to the downpipe cracking. Maybe if you give us some more info on the set-up then we could help you out a little more.

Its not that it has cracked, its just I'm worried it will. Thanks for the link but I need something smaller than that so I don't know what to do. i've heard of a slipfit setup but not sure how that would work.

ive seen setups for audis and porsches that have flex pipes in the dump pipes. but ive never seen a reason for it on these cars. here is somethink that may help, probably a little too much though.
here ya go

In my opinion, the turbo and the manifold or the downpipe and the manifold would have to be vibrating against each other for the welds to come off. I would think that since the manifold, turbo and downpipe should be moving together that they would be fine. If that wasn't the case, then anybody with a tubular manifold would have to have flex sections on each runner to keep the welds on the manifold from cracking. (I hope that makes sense :D )

i think were all missing this part of his initial post

Yeah, I caught that, that is why I said in my first post if he gave us some more info on his set-up that we could probably help him out more.
