Sx fuel pressure regulator location ideas

Hey guys I just recieved my SX regulator...I wasn't prepared to how big this mofo was.... big reg+lil engine bay=PITA

Does anyone have any pics of a SX regulator install in a 2g?

Ive seen them mounted on the end of the fuel rail.. doesnt it have to go there?

well yeah but this thing is huge and there isnt much room at the end of the rail...they could have used a 1g trail. I know they are shorter than 2gs but I don't know by how much.

I know I saw an SX regulator on a 1g DSM at the last meet I went to and I remember that thing is huge but it does fit on their car. Ofcourse they obviously have a 1g fuel rail..

Well i'm just saying there is very little room there. I did some test fittings and I can say the must have junked some things to get it there.

why not just try and find a 1g 91-94 fuel rail?

I don't think a 1g rail is going to help, it's pretty tight.

I would moun it like that but A 2g engine bay Is real cramped. I went as far as moving some sensors to try to put it on the firewall the the problem of not seeing the guage comes into play, and the clearance of the hood is also in question.

Mine is mouted where the feul pressure solenoid is. I moved the fps on the other side of the resevoir (sp?). Then I slotted the holes on the bracket for the resevoir a moved it over to make room. Then I made a bracket out of aluminum and bam. It sounds easy but it was a major pita. I was in your shoes when I saw it and didn't know what to do with it.

I know what you are talking about and I think I can actually modify the bracket a lil.

sorry I have to borrow a camera for pics so it would be mon. before I could get them. I will get them if you want to wait though. The bracket I made was very simple also. Get a sheet of aluminum cut a peice and bend it like an "S" and use the bolts from fps and bolt it in the same spot. It's a tight fit but does fit.

I have another question for you. How did the return line from the reg mate back up to the stock fuel line or did you run new ss lines to and from the fuel tank?

I just put the ss line where the factory one was and put a hose clamp on it. It doesn't leak and seems to work fine.
